i had a really nasty breakup

with my soulmate today

it felt like we’d known each other forever

it took me four minutes of waiting

before she finally told me

“i’m here on a recorded line.

my name is heather”

 

she wanted to know 

everything there is to know about me

and i was completely surrendered to her

she said I was the only person

that she was talking to

it sounded a lot like “I’m all yours”

 

we had our first argument 

a minute later

looking back, it was so typically us

“there’s nothing I can do” she insisted

i eventually sighed and told her

“it’s okay, you’ve done enough”

 

i felt us starting to go

our separate ways two minutes later

she asked me to rate her after this

i said “I don’t objectify women, you should know that”

she had made me a far better person

then she sent me a survey for feedback

 

the way she always paused before responding

it was like she was always at loss for words

she had a way of mispronouncing my name

i never had the heart to tell her

that’s what i loved most about her
